Joe Wolfel

Prior to co-founding Terradepth with Judson Kauffman, Joe was the Managing Partner of Exbellum, a boutique management consulting firm dedicated to solving unique and complex human capital problems.
In addition to managing the business, Joe’s main client priorities lay in advancing team and individual problem-solving capabilities, strategy generation, and agile execution. Prior to Exbellum, Joe held leadership roles at the McChrystal Group, a leadership think tank and consulting group, as well as Synexxus Inc., a rapid engineering and manufacturing company focused on the defense space. During his time at Synexxus, Joe led classified projects in concert with US Army Research Labs and the Special Operations community focused on data distribution and digitization.
Prior to these roles, Joe served as a Navy SEAL, conducting multiple deployments through the Middle East and Africa. His time as a SEAL officer spanned operational and staff roles, leading assault elements in combat as well as overseeing strategic planning, force management, and international partnership expansion. Joe was educated at the US Naval Academy, graduating with Honors, as a Secretary of the Navy Distinguished Scholar, and ranked 8th overall in his class.
